Three Entries, Three Finalist Spots, One Search Engine Land Award

None of it happens without partners willing to try something different.

~ Cody C. Jensen, CEO & Founder, Searchbloom

Searchbloom won Best eCommerce Search Marketing Initiative - SEO at the 2026 Search Engine Land Awards. The winning entry was our work with MJ Arsenal. We entered 3 categories and made the finalist list in all 3, out of nearly 200 submissions.

This post covers the work behind each entry and what I'd take from it.

TL;DR

The win: MJ Arsenal's collection pages. 74% of new clicks came from non-brand searches, organic revenue rose 69.3%, and the return was 679%.

Finalist, PPC: Punchwork Law. $951,360 in media turned into $4.42M in signed matter value, starting in the firm's first year in business.

Finalist, local SEO: Sun & Ski Sports. 127,738 direction requests and 39,387 calls, with local search actions up 25% across 32 locations.

MJ Arsenal: Collection Pages That Sell

Many stores build collection pages as navigation. That is a reasonable way to build a store, and it costs money, because collection pages carry nearly all of the non-brand demand. MJ Arsenal's averaged position 16.5, and organic revenue had fallen for 15 straight months.

The audit found why. A push from MJ Arsenal's own development team had stripped the H1 from every collection template, and no one inside the business had noticed. From detection to a live fix took 3 days.

That repair stopped the damage. Growth took more work. We rebuilt the collection pages around what shoppers search for, earned editorial coverage for the pages already close to page one, and cleared 103 orphaned pages out of the crawl path. The Bongs page went from an average position of 28.5 to 8.9, and from 4,243 clicks a year to 13,135.

Non-brand clicks grew 84.6% and supplied 74.3% of the 249,629 extra clicks. Organic is now the largest revenue channel in the business, at 39.8% of revenue from 28.5% of sessions.

Not everything worked. Hand Pipes reached position 9.5 in November and slipped back to 13.9. It is back in the roadmap.

Punchwork Law: Cost Per Signed Case

A form fill is cheap to buy. A signed case is what pays a law firm. Smart Bidding optimizes toward whatever you tell it counts, so we pointed it at a signed representation agreement instead.

Punchwork Law opened in January 2025 with no account history, and we were its first marketing partner. Over 13 months, $951,360 in media turned into $4.42M in signed matter value. That was 885 signed cases at $1,075 each, a 4.65x return.

Attribution ran across 3 channels, so every signed case traced back to a source. One landing page, tested every month through a separate landing page testing engagement, held 28% to 31% conversion for 10 straight months, up from about 6% at launch.

Sun & Ski Sports: Every Store Is Different

Multi-location SEO is often sold as a consistency problem: make every store page identical. Sun & Ski needed the opposite. The Avon, Colorado store is a ski shop in January and a bike shop in July, and the sign out front never changes.

Every store had 1 page and was asked to rank for everything. We rebuilt the location pages and gave each store its own page for ski, snowboard, bike, and rental, timed to land before the season each one serves.

Across the same 32 locations, November through February, year over year: 127,738 direction requests, up 24.3%. 39,387 calls, up 24.5%. Total customer actions up 25.3%. 28 of the 32 stores improved. The rewritten pages drove 8,165 organic sessions, up from 2,924, with the same number of pages.

The Rim in San Antonio posted the best result, with direction requests up 72.1%. San Antonio has no ski slopes. Its residents still drive to ski, and the page said so.

The Sun & Ski Sports case study covers the rest, and our local SEO page explains how we approach multi-location work.

Thank You

Thank you, MJ Arsenal, Punchwork Law, and Sun & Ski Sports, for trusting us with the work. Thank you also to the Searchbloom teammates who did it.
