About our Partner
Our partner is an independently owned custom closet and storage company that has designed and built for homeowners for more than two decades. It serves a large metro area across two counties, with a Google Business Profile for each of its two service areas.
Who They Are
A design-and-build company with its own fabrication shop. Every cabinet is built locally, and every designer and installer is on staff. The company doesn't subcontract its work.
What They Do
Custom walk-in, reach-in, and wardrobe closets, plus garage storage, pantries, laundry rooms, home offices, entertainment centers, and closet doors. Every project starts with a free in-home design consultation.
Why They Came to Searchbloom
Every project starts with a lead. The company wanted search to bring in more homeowners ready to book a design consultation.
The Problem
Search brought in few leads. In September 2025, traditional search produced 23, and 14 of them converted to contacts in the company's CRM. Organic traffic was steady, so visibility alone wasn't the gap. The pages and profiles homeowners found weren't built to turn a search into a booked consultation.
Priority pages on the site carried title tags and headings that were not written for the searches that lead to a booked consultation.
Cart, checkout, and account pages sat in the XML sitemap, though none of them should ever be indexed. Both Google Business Profiles had room to say more about the full range of work: services, products, categories, and project photos.
The Solution
Searchbloom began the local SEO engagement in late May 2026, following Searchbloom's proprietary SEO methodology: Authority, Relevancy, and Technology (ART). The work focused on what a homeowner, or an AI assistant, reads before choosing a closet company: the service pages on the site and the company's Google Business Profiles.
- Started a monthly outreach cadence to earn links from other websites.
- Published Google Business Profile posts twice a month on each profile, starting in July.
- Rewrote the title tags, meta descriptions, and H1 headings on 75 priority pages, in three batches of 25 from July through August.
- Optimized both Google Business Profiles in three rounds: descriptions, categories, products, and services, plus geo-tagged project photos.
- Removed the cart, checkout, and account pages from the XML sitemap and kept them out of the index, so crawlers spend their time on the pages that sell.
- Audited structured data across 153 URLs, then implemented and validated corrected markup by the end of September.
Why did AI search show up in the lead report? Because AI SEO is SEO. AI assistants answer local questions from the same sources search engines rank: a company's website, its business profiles, and what other sites say about it. That's the same list the work above covered: the site, both profiles, and links from other websites. In September, 20 leads came in with AI search recorded as their source.
The Results
Four months into the engagement, search leads more than doubled. In September 2026, traditional search and AI search together produced 51 leads, up from 23 traditional search leads in September 2025, an increase of 122%. Of those 51 leads, 36 converted to contacts, up from 14, an increase of 157%. These counts aren't estimates: they come from the partner's CRM, which records the source of every lead.
Why did leads grow faster than traffic? Organic sessions in Google Analytics rose only 3%, but organic users rose 26%, and in Google Search Console the company showed up 20% more often in searches that didn't include its name. More homeowners found the company, and more of them reached out.
| Search Leads (September, Year Over Year) | September 2025 | September 2026 | Change |
| Leads created | 23 | 51 | +121.7% |
| Converted to contacts | 14 | 36 | +157.1% |
| Lead-to-contact rate | 60.9% | 70.6% | +16.0% |
September 2025 is the last full September before the engagement began in May 2026, so it is a clean baseline. That month, the CRM recorded no leads with AI search as their source.
| September 2026 Search Leads by Source | Leads Created | Converted to Contacts |
| Traditional search | 31 | 18 |
| AI search (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and others) | 20 | 18 |
| Total search | 51 | 36 |
Traditional search leads rose from 23 to 31. But the CRM had no AI search source last year, so some of those 23 may have come from AI assistants. That's why this study compares all search leads, 51 against 23. Of the 20 AI search leads, 18 converted to contacts.
