Turn YouTube Viewers Into Leads and Customers
YouTube ads run inside Google Ads. The same account, conversion tracking, and audience data that power your Search campaigns can power your video campaigns too.
Many advertisers miss that connection. They put YouTube in its own brand budget, run one video to everyone, and judge it by views. Views alone do not tell you whether the ads made money.
Searchbloom manages YouTube ads as part of your paid search account. We pick the campaign type that matches your goal, target the people most likely to buy, and measure results in leads and revenue.
What Are YouTube Ads?
YouTube ads are video ads you buy through Google Ads. They play before, during, or after YouTube videos, show in YouTube search results and the Home feed, run between Shorts, and can extend to Google video partner sites and apps.
You decide who sees them with audience and content targeting. You also decide how you pay: per view, per thousand impressions, or toward a conversion goal, depending on the campaign type.
YouTube Ad Formats We Run
Each format does a different job. Some campaign types let Google pick the format for each placement, so we check that you have videos in the lengths and orientations every format needs.
Skippable in-stream ads: These play before, during, or after a video, and viewers can skip after 5 seconds. On a cost-per-view bid, you pay only when someone watches 30 seconds (or the whole ad if it is shorter) or clicks.
Non-skippable in-stream ads: Viewers watch the full ad, and you pay per thousand impressions. Use them when the whole message has to land.
Bumper ads: Six-second ads that viewers cannot skip. They build reach and repeat one short message.
In-feed video ads: A thumbnail and text in YouTube search results, the Home feed, and next to related videos. You pay when someone clicks to watch.
YouTube Shorts ads: Vertical ads that run between Shorts in the Shorts feed, made for viewers who scroll on their phones.
Masthead ads: The top of the YouTube Home feed, bought by reservation through Google. They suit large launches with budgets to match.
Campaign Types Matched to Your Goal
The campaign type controls bidding, placements, and what Google optimizes for. Pick the wrong one and you pay for the wrong outcome.

Demand Gen campaigns: The campaign type for leads and sales. Google moved Video Action campaigns into Demand Gen starting in 2025. Demand Gen runs video and image ads on YouTube in-stream, in-feed, and Shorts placements, plus Discover and Gmail. It bids toward conversions and can find new people who look like your best customers.
Video reach campaigns: Reach as many unique people in your audience as possible at a target cost per thousand impressions. A good fit for awareness in a new market.
Video views campaigns: Built for consideration. Google optimizes for views and engagement at a target cost per view.
Ad sequence campaigns: Tell a story in order. Each viewer sees the first ad before the second, so the message builds instead of repeating.
Performance Max: Google's all-channel campaign type includes YouTube placements. When Performance Max fits your account, we make sure your own videos are in it so Google does not build videos from your images.
Our YouTube Advertising Services
The team that runs your Search campaigns runs your YouTube campaigns too, because both draw on one account, one set of audiences, and one conversion setup. We don't produce videos. Your team or video partner makes them, we advise on what each one needs, and we run the media buying: targeting, bidding, testing, and reporting. Every account follows our ACE methodology (Assets, Control, Experimentation), the same process behind our PPC management services.
Audit and audience research: We start with your Google Ads account and conversion tracking. If tracking is broken, we fix it first, since nobody can measure what the video ads drive without it. Then we build audiences from your customer lists, site visitors, and past viewers, plus Google's custom, in-market, and life event segments. If your Search campaigns aren't profitable yet, we'll tell you to fix those before you spend on video.
Creative direction and campaign builds: We review the videos you have and match each one to a format and a goal. For new cuts, we tell your team what each format needs: the length, the first five seconds, the call to action, and a vertical version for Shorts. Then we build the campaigns, ad groups, and ads in your account.
Bidding, testing, and optimization: The bid strategy follows the goal: target CPA or target ROAS for Demand Gen, target CPM for reach, and target CPV for views. Then we test. Does the 15-second cut beat the 30-second version? We keep what wins, exclude placements that burn spend, and move budget to the campaigns bringing in leads and sales.
Measurement and monthly reporting: Many YouTube viewers never click. They watch, then search your brand days later and convert on a Search ad. So we report conversions, engaged-view conversions, and cost per lead, not just views. Each month you see what ran, what it cost, what it drove, and what we'll change next.
YouTube Advertising Questions and Answers
You set the budget. Google Ads has no minimum spend. How you pay depends on the campaign: per view on a target CPV bid, per thousand impressions on target CPM, or toward a cost per conversion on target CPA or target ROAS.
Two things move the price: how many other advertisers want the same audience, and how long your ad holds attention. If your budget can't cover a few weeks of testing, put it into Search first. Video needs time to find the right audience.
No. Viewers can skip most in-stream ads after five seconds, so those first five seconds have to say who the ad is for and why to keep watching. A product demo or customer story shot on a phone is a fine place to start. We don't produce video, but we'll tell your team which edits each format needs.
Both, depending on the campaign. Demand Gen bids toward form fills, calls, and purchases. Video reach and video views campaigns build awareness. A common setup runs the two together: video campaigns grow the audience, and Demand Gen converts the people who've already seen you.
We track conversions in Google Ads and Google Analytics 4, including engaged-view conversions. That's Google's credit for a viewer who watched at least 10 seconds of a skippable ad (5 seconds for in-feed and Shorts ads), didn't click, and converted later.
On larger budgets, we can also run a Google Brand Lift study. It surveys people who saw your ads against people who didn't, so you can see whether the ads moved ad recall, awareness, and brand searches.
Yes. YouTube is one part of our PPC management, together with Google Ads Search campaigns, Google Shopping, and Performance Max, plus Microsoft Ads as an added channel. We keep them under one team because a YouTube viewer who later clicks a Search ad is one customer, not two. Splitting the work between agencies splits that view.
